Google introduced several new products and features at the recent Made by Google event. The one I found most unique is Gemini Live.
What is Gemini Live?
Gemini Live is Google’s attempt to make your mobile phone a powerful AI assistant. It’s an upgrade over Google Assistant and is powered by Artificial intelligence.
It’s a mobile conversational experience that lets you have free-flowing conversations with the Google Gemini AI chatbot.
Gemini Live is an advanced voice assistant powered by AI that can have human-like, multi-turn verbal conversations on any topic.
You can converse with the Gemini Live the way you do with an actual person; you can interrupt it mid-sentence, and the assistant will understand you and come up with relevant info.
How to Get Gemini Live on Android Phone?
Although Gemini Live was just announced, it’s already available to Gemini Advanced subscribers. The feature is currently being rolled out to Pixel and Samsung smartphones.
If you don’t have a Samsung or Pixel phone, you need to purchase the Google One AI Premium plan, which costs $20 per month, to get access to Gemini Live.
- To get started, update the Google Gemini app on your phone.
- Also, update the Google App.
- Log in with the Google Account using the Gemini Advanced Subscription.
- Next, open the Google Gemini app on your phone.
- At the bottom right corner, tap on the AI voice icon.
- This will launch the Gemini Live. Tap on the Start to have a conversation with the AI chatbot.
Note that if there’s no AI voice-like icon on the Google Gemini app, the feature is not yet available on your account. You need to wait a few more days or weeks to use this feature.
If you’ve purchased Pixel Pro 9, you will have free access to the Google One AI Premium Plan for the first year. This means you can utilize Gemini Live without making any purchases.
This guide explains how to get Gemini Live on any Android phone. Let us know if you need more help on this topic in the comments. Also, if you find this guide helpful, don’t forget to share it with your friends.
